چکیده

[3] or is moving an exercise machine or an orthotic device. In systems of this nature, the human arm dynamics are integrated with the machine dynamics, resulting in behavior specific to the total system. The performance and stability of the system taken as a whole are both functions of not only the machine dynamics, but also the human arm dynamics. Evideoce for instability in a human-machine system involving an interaction force between the human and the machine, as well as force feedback compensation within the machine, has been shown [1,3]. The goal of this article is to determine whether increasing muscular cocontraction levels may be a cause of such instability. Abstract

Comparison of generalised and directed co-contraction of knee joint muscles during four different movements to strengthen the quadriceps

Background: The determinant role of different movements to strengthen the quadriceps on rate of knee joint co-contraction, hamstring to quadriceps muscle activity ratio and vastus medialis to vastus lateralis muscle activity ratio provides useful information for therapists, coaches and athletes about the role of each movement in the rehabilitation of patients with anterior cruc...

The Effect of Three Types of Military Boots’ Mileage on Knee Muscular Co-Contraction During Running

Purpose: Military boots’ mileage is a main factor that can be influence the risk of sustaining injuries during running. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of three types of military boots’ mileage on knee muscular co-contraction during running. Methods: Fifteen healthy males received three new pairs of military boots. They were asked to wear these shoes for over 6 months. ...

The Interaction Effects of Montmorillonite and Glycerol on the Properties of Polyvinyl Alcohol-montmorillonite Films

Background and Objectives: Preparation and evaluation of nanocomposite films have become prevalent in recent years. Depending on the purpose of using the film, and considering the effects and interaction effects of nanomaterial and other modifiers on the film properties, the amounts of nanomaterials and modifiers should be optimized. The effects of montmorillonite (MMT), glycerol (GL), and thei...

The Effect of Exhaustive Protocol on Knee Muscle Co-contraction in Healthy People and with a Pronated Foot during Running

Background and Aim: Fatigue and abnormalities in the lower extremities, such as the pronated foot, can adversely affect the biomechanics of human movements such as running, leading to a lack of muscle contraction and unstable symptoms in the joints of the lower extremities (knees). Therefore, the main purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of exhaustive protocol on knee muscle co-c...

Trainability of Muscular Activity Level during Maximal Voluntary Co-Contraction: Comparison between Bodybuilders and Nonathletes

Antagonistic muscle pairs cannot be fully activated simultaneously, even with maximal effort, under conditions of voluntary co-contraction, and their muscular activity levels are always below those during agonist contraction with maximal voluntary effort (MVE). Whether the muscular activity level during the task has trainability remains unclear. The present study examined this issue by comparin...
